Governing Principles

1. Practical tool development:

Accelerated decarbonization depends on objective, evidence- based, practical tools. FFF assesses technical, economic, and institutional parameters and sector needs. It does not promote hydrogen, e-fuels, or carbon capture as ends in themselves.

2. Systemic, realistic e-fuel value chains:

Full understanding of implications across sectors can only come from a full systemic analysis of renewable energy, green hydrogen, carbon sourcing, conversion efficiency, infrastructure and logistics, cross-sector needs, interdependencies, and both supply and demand investment parameters.

3. Cross-sector integration is non-negotiable:

Shipping, aviation, cement, steel, chemicals, agriculture, energy, and power generation cannot decarbonize independently. FFF reconciles incompatible assumptions, arbitrates competing claims on limited fuels, identifies sequencing logic, and avoids price shocks, bottlenecks, and stranded assets.

4. Neutrality and independence:

FFF is non-commercial. It does not sell technology, deploy capital, or promote vendors. Authority derives from analytical rigor, transparency of assumptions, and credibility across sectors.

5. Decision-grade outputs:

FFF produces cross-sector sequenced roadmaps, integrated scenario and techno-economic analysis, finance and offtake frameworks, and policy and regulatory advisory grounded in maturity.

5. Decision-grade outputs:

FFF produces cross-sector sequenced roadmaps, integrated scenario and techno-economic analysis, finance and offtake frameworks, and policy and regulatory advisory grounded in maturity.

6. Finance is a system constraint:

Pathways are only credible if financeable at scale.: FFF integrates cost of capital, risk allocation, public-private de-risking, and offtake structures.

7. Policy credibility and level playing fields:

FFF supports regulation reflecting real technology and fuel maturity, realistic default factors and benchmarks, avoidance of winner-takes-all consolidation, and participation across the full industry.

8. Evidence-based public and executive education:

FFF addresses polarization between uncritical promotion and rejection of hydrogen and e-fuels through evidence-based understanding for boards, policymakers, and public debate.

9. Switzerland as neutral framework anchor:

Switzerland provides a uniquely credible base due to political neutrality, global corporate headquarters, technical and finance rigor, institutional trust, and absence of national industrial favoritism.

10. Transparency, accountability, and governance:

FFF commits to evidence-based, challengeable methodologies, transparent governance, and accountability.

Built for Credibility, Neutrality and Accountability

The platform combines strategic industry leadership with evidence-based oversight

FFF is structured to provide both strategic direction and analytical integrity. Indicative founding and proposed board representation includes senior industry leaders, public institutions and research actors. Board responsibilities include strategic direction, work program approval, oversight of neutrality and integrity, and the resolution of cross-sector trade-offs on fuel demand, timing and sequencing. Executive mandates are designed to connect external affairs, platform development, research integration, governance, operations and flagship delivery. The platform is also intended to work with high-integrity research partners.
